Spirit Regionals

Well I meant to post this a while ago but somehow missed it.

GT Slots in Philadelphia PA is hosting a Spirit regional race on August 28th. I am going to it with the 406 Coupe I bought not to long ago (posted about it in my wish list). They are also hosting the Spirit Nationals in November which I hope to be able to attend. I don't know much about GT Slots and I have never been to Philadelphia so this should be a fun trip for me. If you live in or around  Philly stop by, say hi, and watch some good racing. For information on the Spirit race and the many other races GT Slots is hosting here is a link to there website.

Paper Building Scenery

Any 1/32 scale racer knows finding scenery items isn't an easy task. We have all scratch built scenery and we are always looking for new items for our tracks. I have found a few paper buildings around the internet and thought I would share them. If you know of some not listed just comment the post with them. All of these links are in foreign languages but the downloads are pdfs. it might take a few tries at folding but it shouldn't be to hard to put them together without instructions. If you would like the buildings to be a bit stronger you can use the pdf's as templates and make the items out of wood or plastruct or any other harder material.

Carrera4fun - click on Gebaude & Deko then the links on the right
Pedemannonline - click on downloads
papiergebaude - the three links on the left
slimpages - page shows how to make a pit box out of cardboard and a couple other buildings under the download tab
schrauberbude - scroll the page
epsonnakajimaracing - all the links on the left side of the page will get you to paper models. click links under "PIT" to see the scenery stuff. Everything is in 1/24 but all you have to do is print at 75% size and that will make everything 1/32.

Fantasy World Hobbies

I bought my first car from Fantasy World Hobbies. They are localed in Washington but I bought it online. I bought the Spirit Peugeot 406 Coupe "Mardi Gras" car. This post is about the service I received on a phone call to Fantasy World. I called about some information on spare parts for the car and Tony helped me out immensly.Tony answered all my stupid questions and even asked many of his own to make sure I got exactly what I was after. The shop didn't have the exact tires I was looking for and he was kind enough to give me a set of his tires. That kind of service is something most places don't offer when you are face to face with them in there store. I am already planning my next purchase from Fantasy World Hobbies and will definatly be giving Tony a call again.

My wish list 2009

This is my 2009 wish list. Yes it's over halfway thorough 2009 but what the heck I need something to write about since my track isn't up yet. All links lead to HotSlots132.com or the manufactures web site.

1. Slot.it Mclaren F1 GTR "Gulf/Davidoff" - I have both the "Fina" and "Loctite" versions of the car. They run very well out of the box and make good running partners to race a third will allow me to use the "Fina" car for non mag racing exclusivly.

2. Spirit Peugeot 406 Coupe "Mardi Gras" - I don't own a Spirit car yet and I seem to be drawn to the Peugeots more than the 2002 BMWs. This particular car is my favorite of the Coupes but they are starting to sell out so I will take what I can get when I have the money.

3/4. Avant Slot Pescarolo LMP 2006 "Playstation" and "Rollcentre"- Another brand I do not own any cars from nor do I have any open cockpit cars. Both of the cars look very nice and I would like to get both of them but I will probably only be able to get one.

5. NSR Mosler MT 900R EVO "24 HR Silverstone 2005" - I will probably never own a NSR car but if I could afford one this would be it. With my limited budget I could get any two of the other cars on my list for the same price. NSR produces the greatest out of the box cars though.

6. Spirit BMW 2002 "Pneuhoge" - A BMW from before I was born. I have never seen one of these in real life. The "Pneuhoge" car is nice but the out of production "lauda" car is my favorite. If the Lauda car were available it would be 1 or 2 on the list. The second of three Spirit cars on my list.

7. Ninco Ford GT GT3 "Matech Dubai" - This car was annouced within the week and to be honest the only reason I want it is because it looks cool. I don't own any Ninco cars either so this to would be a first for me. Probably should be 9 or 10 on the list but I wanted to break up the BMWs.

8. SCX BMW 320 "Celly" - I have one SCX BMW already, they run great and handle well. One can never have enough BMWs.

9. Spirit BMW 635 "Original Teile" - I like BMWs if you have not noticed. This is a 6-series car the 365 is a type-o on the Hot Slots page. There are two other 6-series cars but I like this one the best. The final Spirit car on my list. If I were able to get all three cars Spirit would be one of my most owned brands.

10. Power Slot Hummer H1 "# 625" - It's a truck what else do I have to say. This Dakar truck was an assistant truck to the Robby Gordon entry and I like this one better than the white and red truck that is also available.

Out of these cars only 4 or 5 are actuall "save money to get cars" and a couple I don't think I would get even if I did have the money. Of course that's what a wish list is right cars you want but probably won't get.

Can you spot the mistake?

Racer is coming out with a new Riley MKXX. The car is the Chip Ganassi Racing car #01. The car will be released with the Bob Stallings Racing #99 later in the year. This post though isn't a review it's a fun post for all of you. Can you spot the mistake?

You cannot see the mistake in the first photo. If you found it in the second photo great and the third is a bit easier. I am not going to post what the mistake is but lets just say the cars engine has an identity disorder. The mistake in the photos will not be on the official release. I emailed Racer about it and they assured me that this is a prototype car and they knew about the mistake when the photos were taken.
